Typical prosthodontic training includes four years of dental school and three additional years of training in dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation, crowns, bridges, dentures, cosmetics, and temporomandibular joint function. Dr. Abrahams took it upon himself to train for an additional (8th) year to achieve the distinction of Maxillofacial Prosthodontist. This year long fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics & Dental Oncology was completed at New York City’s prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Abrahams provides an extremely high level of care for patients who are missing teeth or have significant damage to their existing teeth. His extremely specialized training allows him to deal with a wide variety of problems from the most simple to the most complex. A prosthodontist can be thought of as the dentist’s dentist. He can aid in the rehabilitation of a complete dentition or merely in the replacement of one or two teeth. With the advent of dental implants as a viable means of replacing teeth, the prosthodontist’s role has expanded substantially. The prosthodontist can supply the control and expertise that is necessary to make an implant supported restoration look and function properly. He is a Member of the American College of Prosthodontists, The Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, South Florida District Dental Association, & American Dental Association.
